First, thanks for subscribing - it is much appreciated. Second, while this is part of the paid-subscriber only “About Last Week” series, I thought the holiday called for it to be open to everyone, including the comments! Third, the five baby advertisement (fifth installment plus new year baby, in case you were wondering why) image refers to something called “lactated food.” When you search the term, pretty much only that exact image comes up, but I’m mostly sure that means food with extra lactose added. If anyone has a better and/or funnier definition please put it in the comment section.
In the beginning, there was the word police …
New Year’s reviews are usually critical looks at what was said and done in the previous 12 months, but considering the current state of social censorship that may not be possible…or legal…or allowed…or appropriate…or whatever.
Well, not only to hell with that let’s make it our main focus.
The FBI and the rest of the federal intelligence community worked hand-in-glove with social media giants to upend both the 2020 and 2022 elections.
The Twitter Files – (quick re-cap here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter_Files#Commentators ) did not reveal this fact – they merely confirmed it, unless of course you are willfully, intentionally, ideologically, purposefully, dishonestly refusing to see it because making enough money to keep your kids out of public school and making sure you keep getting invited to the right cocktail parties is more important to you than trying to preserve the bedrock notion of a democratic republic.
Or, you could actually believe – or have been taught to believe – that the nation is illegitimate so anything that oppresses the rights of people who disagree with you is fine and dandy – righting past wrongs and such.
This censorship that pervades even aspect of our culture is the most important tool of the lecherous Luddite lackeys and lords that currently rule the country. And it is not a conspiracy – it doesn’t have to be: it is simply the end result of a great many like-minded people protecting their own economic, social, and cultural preeminence.
As with the Deep State efforts against the Trump (like him or not) presidency – also a case of narcissistic drones protecting their rice bowls – an actual formal conspiracy is simply redundant. You don’t have to tell people to do something they would do on their own anyway.
One fascinating aspect of the FBI’s response to the situation is the agency’s claim their interaction with Twitter was standard operating procedure, that they chat with myriad private entities all the time. First, no they don’t. Second, they don’t chat with them that way. Third, chats with government employees should not involve interfering with an election, an election of the people who, by the way, set the FBI’s budget and parameter of duties.
If the FBI was having similar conversations with businesses across the country, the owner of Bill’s Frame and Body down the street should have been getting weekly emails and visits warning him that he should be on the lookout for a blue-ish car or SUV that may have its right front or left rear quarter-panel damaged in a fire and/or an accident and if any vehicle remotely matching that description comes into this shop he should immediately flag it as possibly terrorism-related.
That never happened, so even the FBI’s own cover-up for a lie was a lie itself, even though the FBI claims – taking a cue from “Yes, Prime Minister’s” Sir Humphrey Appleby - they didn’t do anything wrong in the first place that required covering-up because they did not actually technically ask Twitter to support the Biden candidacy - see here for Sir Humphrey’s take on what officially happens and what does not:
– the whole thing is very funny but the salient bit starts just before the two-minute mark.
2022 saw numerous other head -scratching events, from the trans activist community moving beyond hating women to even hating lesbians – you know, the L in LGBTQIA+ - because, who knows? I think they just want to knock them down the coolness ladder, a task they are succeeding at, apparently -
The pandemic may or may not have ended, depending upon who is talking and whether or not it is convenient at the moment to say yay or nay.
The date January 6 kept coming up for some reason
The struggle to keep the homeless-industrial complex housed and well-fed seemed important
Public apologies for no good reason kept being issued
Racism wasn’t cured (though considering how much money was spent and how much time and energy were devoted to the effort you would like it would have been fixed by now)
The global green agenda had its either utterly unsurprising or absolutely intentional effect
And various government agencies continued to prove their robust incompetence
and
In other words, a pretty typical year.
Sigh.
But we cannot end on such a down note – first, for a refresher, here’s last years year-end piece (it’s a bit less dire)
And, finally, if you’re a fan of 1970s health educational films being made fun of – and who isn’t? – I leave you with this:
