“Fweedom!”
That is what Kamala Harris almost certainly falsely, definitely farcically, claimed she shouted from her stroller when a child.
And nothing, save the pronunciation, about that has changed.
Harris is still the baby in the stroller, being pushed about by those who have cared for her her entire political life. She has the same childish, dependent idea of “fweedom” as she did all those years ago.
And she’s still lying about it.
There is a difference between freedom and fweedom. And, this past week at the Democratic National Convention, she and all of her new sudden practically now apostolic friends – people until weeks ago dismissed her as lightweight midwit failure - talked about freedom when what they really meant was fweedom.
The fweedom of the child, the fweedom of the dependent, the fweedom of being cared for, the fweedom of not having to think.
A free society is hard to navigate – it takes work, it takes thought, it takes a conscience.
A fwee society demands none of that. Free is free to – fwee if free from.
From worry, from fault, from blame, from responsibility – one does not hold a toddler accountable for not knowing that this state of loving (one hopes) dependence existence will at some point end.
And fwee means that it will never, ever end. A world of cared-for toddlers, children whom one understands get fussy on occasion but can be placated by a screen or a toy or a shiny object.
That is the world that was presented at the convention and that is the world – coupled with an enforced politically tactical yet transitory “Strength through Joy,” or KdF for short – campaign that Harris is presenting as her vision of the nation.
Freedom allows for the existence and election of Donald Trump – Fweedom bans that possibility through any means necessary.
Freedom allows one to speak one’s mind, it allows for justice to be done though the heavens fall. Fweedom demands that only nice, approved things are said and thought and justice is what best serves its own interest.
The welded-on perma-smile of Harris’ joy of fweedom effort is all-too-reminiscent of the desperate desire not to be wished into the cornfield.
Freedom means the cornfield does not exist.
Fweedom – as convention speakers like the ethically deplorable Hillary Clinton and the cypheric non-entity uncle Tim Walz said and have done – is “freedom from fear and intimidation” and the freedom to let literal children mangle themselves.
A life without fear and intimidation is a life lived by a coward – a society that encourages children to see putative doctors who get paid to destroy their ability to enjoy intimacy to have their own children in the future is a society that is bent upon intentionally destroying itself - they are both hallmarks of the on-going attempt to infantilize humanity in the name of fweedom.
Fweedoms involve free stuff – freedom involves free thought, free actions, an inherently free self that understands it is a discrete part of a large society and that freedom does not mean the automatically ability to impose one’s constructs on another just because that would be more convenient.
Fweedom is the opposite. It controls speech, it controls thought, it controls every aspect of society it can while providing just enough to its victims to get by. It is the smile on the outside, though your heart is breaking.
And while fweedom may have been incubated in the halls of the academy and the offices of the multi-billion dollar “non-governmental organizations” that are playing an ever increasing and unaccountable role in global society, it is inherently a modern-day California vision.
The governor, Gavin Newsom, consistently confuses the two ideas. Both Newsom and Harris are the excreta of the all-powerful northern California political cabal that has run the state for years. And if the powerful in California are about anything, they are about control dressed up as freedom.
But it is fweedom that is keeping the state in permanent thrall. California has the largest percentage of people on welfare in the country, the largest percentage of people getting free government health care, housing prices so high it would literally take more than a lifetime to save for a downpayment to buy anything, and the largest wealth gap in the nation – possibly, in the nation’s history- of any state.
California fweedom is, at its heart, the drive to eliminate the possibility of personal success unless it benefits the state - if it benefits the person themselves and does not create massive amounts of (potential) cash and status for the state, then it does not matter and is crushed. Hence the departure of the middle-class and the small and medium and now very very large business owner (see SpaceX and Chevron.)
Fweedom did not - does not, can not, will not - consider those possibilities, as such ideas and constructs are antithetical to its core concept.
And that is fweedom – it is a rental life, it’s about mandatory sharing, it is a right to be kept by another – it’s about things, not about humans, not about inherent individuality, not about the right to be wrong.
Unlike freedom, fweedom posits a benevolent “daddy” government and society – needs (and some wants, if you qualify) are taken care of and criticism from anyone– save from daddy himself – is banished as being too mean.
But what if daddy is failing, what if he has cancer, what happens when we can’t be supplied with our fweedom - what then?
Welcome to 2024 and the fweedom and joy campaign of Kamala Harris to keep that daddy alive – at all costs.
Or, as was done with Joe, just replace him - you don’t even have to ask the kids anymore.
