If You Are Sick, Do Not Come to Our Hospital
But If You Are a Trans Kid, We've Got You Covered...
Ah, Canada.
Once known as a more polite, colder, cleaner, calmer version of the United States - America Lite, if you will - it is now one of the most psychotically progressive and repressive nations on earth.
The Great White North is now the Great Woke North.
From Lil’ Justin cowering in his safe house during a tidy protest that actually featured kids bounce houses -
to government agencies literally handing out suicide suggestion pamphlets to handicapped people - https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/christine-gauthier-paralympian-euthanasia-canada-b2238319.html , to cutting off bank account access of government opponents, to, well, the list is astonishing.
If Florida is where woke goes to die and California is where it was born, then Canada is where it spends the rest of its living high on the hog…wait, is that speciesist? let’s check - https://veganoptioncanada.org/en/opinion-en/should-we-attack-speciesism-or-humanism/ .
And of course jailing pastors for preaching and parents for parenting - https://nationalpost.com/opinion/opinion-draconian-covid-measures-were-a-mistake-lets-not-repeat-them - also seem to be habits of the Dudley DoLefts above the 49th parallel.
And now there is this, an actual tweet four days ago from an actual children’s hospital in an actual human society:
Definitely check out the responses here; they are mostly of the “I don’t think you understand what the word ‘hospital’ means” ilk:
https://twitter.com/BCChildrensHosp/status/1650535122943311872
It appears BC Children’s HOSPITAL is still terribly afraid of COVID - http://www.bcchildrens.ca/health-info/covid-19-and-children-information-for-patients - but it also seems they have a bit of an obsession with telling people not to show up on their door step.
From the website: “Half of the top reasons patients visit our ED may not actually require a visit to the emergency department …Our Emergency Department (ED) can be busy and sometimes, to avoid long unnecessary waits, your child’s illness could best be treated at a doctor's office, a walk-in clinic or an urgent primary care centre.”
The hospital also seems to think Canada’s indigenous population is not familiar with the concept of what a hospital is as well, offering special assistance to those it clearly sees as poor, backward, stupid people:
Indigenous Patient Navigators
Indigenous Patient Navigators work alongside Indigenous patients and their families, and:
· accompany you to appointments throughout the hospital
· provide emotional support
· assist with finding resources for the patient while they are an in-patient at the hospital.
And in case you are wondering exactly what the navigator will do, well, wonder no more:
Support with your hospital visit
· Assist you patient and your family in navigating hospital procedures and protocols
· Accompany you and your family to clinic appointments at Children’s Hospital
· Ensure your needs are heard by your medical team
· Assist you with making a complaint
· Health literacy: explain medical advice that health professionals provide at patient appointments
· Direct patients and their families to resources that support your short-term or long-term stay at the hospital, including travel, food vouchers, housing, counselling and respite care
· Attend care plan and discharge planning meetings alongside the patient and their family to provide emotional support and health literacy assistance
On the plus side, BCH has the transgender children racket down to a science:
“The Gender Clinic provides treatment with puberty blockers and/or gender-affirming hormones for transgender and gender-questioning youth. We accept referrals up to the patient's 17th birthday.”
Up to the patient’s 17th birthday.
Once the kid has seen a “transcompetent mental health assessor” and received a referral - note: that appointment is expected to take about an hour and a half - they (I think I mean they) may then toddle in for their first medical visit:
Your first medical visit (with a pediatric endocrinologist) will be a minimum of 2 hours. Plan on being at the hospital for at least 2½ hours. Younger siblings will find this tiring, and we highly suggest alternative babysitting arrangements to make your visit more comfortable.
From there - if, of course, the docs say OK (which is at the heart of ‘gender-affirming care’ so the likelihood is very very very very high they will) - it’s off to puberty blocker and “gender affirming hormones” land.
The kid does have to sign a consent form which reads, in part:
“The cause of gender dysphoria is not known…I want to receive treatment that will help my body stop having the changes of male puberty…This will allow me time to continue my gender journey without having to worry about permanent unwanted male body changes.”
To be extra helpful BCH offers its whippersnappers a slew of resources: http://www.bcchildrens.ca/health-info/coping-support/gender-resources . These feature such helpful tips as how to “love your chest” with either a proper and comfortable binder or surgery: https://qmunity.ca/resources/i-heart-my-chest/.
Also found is advice for “gender creative kids” because “Being Trans Knows No Age” : https://gendercreativekids.com/ .
I highly recommend clicking on this link for the video presentation - I guess getting picked last for (oh the irony) kickball leads to transgenderism.
Finally, in case you need a little help in the binding/strapping/packing/dilating/pumping department or want a “gender neutral” book on menstruation - https://www.gendergear.ca/collections/kids-books/products/red-moon-gang-an-inclusive-guide-to-periods - feel free to follow the BCH website suggestion and head on over to https://www.gendergear.ca/ .
Do not click on this link if you are at work, or anywhere else for that matter, as the apparatus involved is rather off-putting (I mean, I brace for pain every time I have to take off a Band-Aid, for God’s sake.)
Thanks BC Hospital for all your help!
Now if you will just start seeing sick people you job will be complete.
Addendum - As usual, satire predicts life (from “The Compassionate Society” episode)…
As a former chair of the Canadian American Business Council and having long enjoyed a wonderful relationship with The Great White North and its delightful citizens, I have long warned with growing alarm at their trundling towards tyranny. Their vaunted socialized health system is a notorious mess, they are inventing scandals to erase and rewrite Canadian history, and now legislation, C-11, is about to become law that will finish the job of snuffing out free speech. With a pillow. Until it stops breathing. And many ideological partisans on the left are working overtime to import it here. This is a wake up call, and the alarms are blaring.
