Gil Rasmussen is a friend of mine - a good friend.
And his book “Lost in Dogpatch” is a good book about a good friend in a bad spot - Vietnam - Da Nang specifically.
Gil was a postal clerk. Sounds simple and easy? Nothing is simple and easy when rockets and mortars are being fired at you.
So we sat down (we did a voice-only interview on Skype so I know I was sitting but I can’t vouch for Gil) and had a chat about the book and his time in Vietnam.
Full disclosure - there is a certain amount of occassional feedback which I thought I could edit out and I was able do so - to a certain extent. I promise I’ll get better at this whole audio thing the kids are doing these days.
