Friday morning, 27-year-old Resendo Tellez (allegedly) stole a severed human leg from a train accident near the Wasco, California train station.
And that’s not the worst thing he did that morning - here’s video of the man as he seems to take a few bites out of said leg:

While not wishing to pre-judge a person, it can most likely be said that Tellez is homeless – he was after all at the train tracks near in Wasco at 8 a.m. – that Tellez has a substance abuse issue – he did stagger along the sidewalk – that Tellez is a criminal – he did have numerous outstanding warrants - and that Tellez has a mental health issue – he did nibble on a severed human leg.
The leg, according to authorities, became available for Tellez’s breakfast after an accident on the tracks killed a pedestrian.
Apparently, the leg was severed in the accident and - possibly – flung some distance from the point of impact. Either that or Tellez was with the man at the time of the accident and decided to take his acquaintance’s leg “home” for further inspection and/or to search online for recipes.
As can be seen in the video, Tellez was arrested a short time after the accident and charged with a misdemeanor – or misdefemur, as one Daily Caller commented opined – count of “removing human body parts from an area that is not a cemetery without law enforcement approval.”
Whether or not the charge will stick is unknown, though it appears the local district attorney’s office will have at least a leg to stand on.
On the plus side for Tellez, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s $6.4 billion homeless/mental health proposition just passed so there will be money available for treatment. On the downside for the taxpayer, Tellez will most likely require about half of those funds to be made whole, as it were.
Tellez’s immigration status is not known at this time, though if, just on the off chance, he happens to be in the country illegally it may be a wise move for local authorities to Resendo him back.
I'm happy to place betting odds that he's an illegal alien.
