International broadcaster Steve Hilton is now doing a California-specific podcast and recently asked me to be on to discuss why it seems the state unemployment agency is not quite sure that 9 is bigger than 3.
For background, during the pandemic, the agency sent out 9 million fully-loaded (initially carrying up to $15,000 or so each) chipless benefit debit cards when their own unemployment figures showed there were only 3 million people unemployed.
