Stupid or Evil?
There are times in life when one can only shake one’s head and wonder if a person is just plain stupid or intentionally evil…
This week’s contestant – Kamala Harris
It may not be exactly how it’s supposed to be pronounced, but there is something to be said for the naughty Kamalatoe pun, because Vice President Harris is a walking talking breathing analogy of that particular problematic female sartorial misalignment.
Imagine you see a woman (or, if it were the 1970s and you were closely watching “Starsky and Hutch,” a man) who is dressed to the nines. Everything on the surface seems fine and then you notice the problem and your whole impression of the person just changes in an instant (by the way, for my Canadian subscribers, we are referring to “moose knuckle.”)
That’s Harris in a nutshell – theoretically impressive until you realize the fatal flaw, but a flaw in her case that cannot be solved by a discrete adjustment.
She’s just stupid, actually not very bright, thick, and in very very very very over her head.
But as this is an either/or series, so one supposes one must discuss the possibility of evil and here are just two distinct examples of that option.
First, there is the border. At the outset of her vice presidency, Harris reportedly beg/demanded something important to do so Joe Biden fulfilled her dream by giving her a nightmare.

- Harris appears to have always followed the typical “no human is illegal,” “root causes,” “borders are racist,” and “we really need cheap maids and gardeners” script demanded by her political overlords.
In other words, she was about the worst possible person to name “border czar” if you wanted to even think about approaching the reality of the problem. Personally, I don’t care if/when politicians “visit” a problem in person, but I do expect a politician not to utterly botch the job if they do trek out beyond the beltway.
The trip was an embarrassment, she got into tiffs with multiple presidents, and the situation at the border deteriorated further to the point where it is now – the cartels are making a fortune taking money from desperate people to sneak them over the border, if they’re lucky. If not it’s death or sex slavery or drug muling for them.
The damage the Harris-led border is doing is horrendous and tied directly to human trafficking, homelessness, drug addiction, fentanyl deaths, and more powerful cartels (which are in bed with China, by the way, because that’s the start of the fentanyl pipeline.) Evil is often an action, in this case it is inaction.
Second, there was Proposition 47. For those familiar with the catastrophe that is California and wondering how it got this way, Prop 47 is a very big reason and Harris played a very big role in getting it passed.
Approved by voters…grrr…in 2014, the proposition is most widely known for its essential decriminalization of shoplifting (and reduced sentences and fines and crime classification for a whole host of other crimes,) eventually giving birth to the organized looting smash and grab gangs that have made national headline – see here

So why is this a particular Kamala thing? Because as then-Attorney General of the state she was tasked with writing the proposition title that voters saw (you can of course find more info on your own, but you get the drift) on the ballot and it was, per Kamala, “The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act.”
Really.
It passed because of its warm fuzzy title and the state has never been the same since.
Now on to the stupid side.
Poland is a country in Europe, the wheels on the bus go round and round, space is neat, even green buses will be yellow, the past is a space in which it is serious because the community children (okay, maybe that last one is an exaggeration but I bet you wouldn’t know it for sure if I didn’t mention it.)

Take Kamala Harris – please (sorry, couldn’t resist). An affair with Willie Brown jumpstarted her career, and then the way was cleared for her to advance because of what she was and who she knew – not what she could do. Evidence of her abusive and chaotic management style, the wildly inappropriate cackle, her incomprehensible speaking style, her flexibility with the facts, and her relatively low-wattage intellectual capabilities were all brushed aside and she was – with her toe barely dipped into the Senate pool – touted as a real up-and-comer by an identity-obsessed punditry that only – at best – looked through the distorting greenhouse glass and thought they saw something beautiful.
She sprinted out of the gate during her 2020 presidential run – good poll numbers, buckets of money, fawning press, the whole magilla. And then something happened – Kamala happened. It went so far south so quickly she didn’t even make it to Iowa.
But maybe it was merely a combination of bad luck, America’s tendency towards racism and misogyny, and a general desire for blandness after Trump that put paid her campaign. Yes, that must be it, the media and Biden campaign decided, so she was tapped for veep.
And then Kamala happened again; she has proven so bad at the job that even a dweeby, white male former mid-sized city mayor and current transportation secretary is beating her in the “what if?” polls.
Like Harris, (Gavin) Newsom is a product of the same system, a San Francistocracy that factory-builds candidates who will serve its own needs and has no interest in what’s inside it as long as it looks pretty and does as it’s told (I think Vegas has a word for that.)
This inherent stupidity leads to another of her significant shortfalls – a deep insecurity that causes her to lash out at those around her. Her problem with bullying and demeaning staffers and others were well-known while she was still in California and can be attributed to her fear of being shown up as the undeserving dolt she is.
If you see a turtle on a roof, you may not exactly know specifically how it got there, but you know for sure that it didn’t there on its own.
So, as noted above, the verdict is: STUPID
