“This Genocide is on Livestream”
LA Times’ Owner “Activist” Daughter Stuns with Pro-Hamas Statements

Uber-woke, uber-rich, uber-awful Nika Soon-Shiong – daughter of the owner of the Los Angeles Times – has called Israel an “apartheid state” that is now committing “genocide” against Palestinians in its response to Hamas’ barbaric attacks.
“It’s not journalistic malpractice to describe the state of Israel as an Apartheid state. This is well-established in international law. It’s the legal term for unlawful “killing, torture, forcible transfer, and denial of basic rights,” she Tweeted (X) late yesterday.
She continued by claiming that “This genocide is on livestream. The pundits (including the Times?) have been bought. The actors (and confused comedians) have been given the script. The politicians have been paid for. The ink on the Lockheed Martin and Accenture contracts is drying” after the most recent Israeli efforts to rot out Hamas terrorists.
Further – specifically astonishing for a member of the board of the Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ) - she added a threat aimed at anyone who does not agree with her warped opinion on the war:
“They will all be remembered for every moment they were silent, every false word that they uttered, and every life those words stole from our earth.”
Beyond her latest missive, her Twitter/X feed is chock full of pro-Hamas content - https://twitter.com/nikasoonshiong .
Los Angeles – specifically West Hollywood – resdients are familiar with Soon-Shiong’s narcissistic adolescent “activism.”
· As a member of the WeHo Public Safety Commission, she pushed for – and got - a reduction of the local law enforcement budget https://wehoville.com/2022/04/12/op-ed-its-not-racist-to-say-nika-soon-shiong-is-hurting-west-hollywood/ by $3.6 million and the adding of “ambassadors.” She was appointed to the spot by Lindsay Horvath, who was later endorsed by the Times’ for the county supervisor’s seat she eventually won.
· After her dad bought the Times, she was given an “advisory” role at the paper, where she reportedly consistently crossed ethical lines, pushed for stories on her Commission, and for the paper to take a harder line against law enforcement in general.
· The Times – surprisingly, at the time – endorsed Democratic Socialists of America member Kenneth Meija for City Controller. Meija – who Soon-Shiong follows on Twitter (X) – was elected.
· According to a number of previously published reports, Soon-Shiong pushed the Times’ coverage even further to the left, causing significant internal issues as the staff struggled “to chart out coverage that converged with her interests.” https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2022/sep/28/radar-festival-unseating/
Separate from her meddling at the Times, Soon-Shiong is a perpetual graduate student – in 2016 she was dubbed a “glam grad” - https://stanforddaily.com/2016/08/26/glam-grads-qa-nika-soon-shiong-on-working-at-the-intersection-of-international-studies-and-creative-writing/ - and a rising young force in the world of philanthropy and international foundational giving, shoveling out money her dad made to every elite hot-button topic, like the Soros kids.
She also “worked in the Office of the President at the World Bank Group to support corporate and regional strategies around disruptive technologies’ impact on development pathways.”
Wonder how she got that gig...
She has her own non-governmental organization called The Fund for Guaranteed Income - https://f4gi.org/. The group’s website states that “Communities across the nation need support. We send recurring cash transfers directly to families, build technology that supports government and community based programs, and power coalitions to support sustained policy-level change.”
F4GI is operating in Los Angeles, Compton, Chicago, and Philadelphia. It is not – particularly ironic considering her support for Hamas – operating in Gaza City where, presumably, $500 a month could make a much bigger difference than in Chicago.
Soon-Shiong’s work with the CPJ also appears to fit nicely with her world view. The CPJ is currently perturbed that Israel has “told news agencies that they cannot guarantee safety of journalists working in the Gaza Strip” during the current phase of the offensive. The CPJ also called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in the conflict - https://cpj.org/ .
Currently, Soon-Shiong is a grad student at Oxford, researching “Dynamics of power and representation; politics of Universal Basic Income.” - https://www.qeh.ox.ac.uk/people/nika-soon-shiong .
Also currently, she is one of the reasons the world is so terrible right now.
Soon-Shiong and her over-rich, over-powerful, over-credentialed, over-influential, over-elite, over-coddled, over-stupid fellow narcissistic nepo-babies have been a driving force in the massive socio-economic changes that are occurring that overwhelmingly disproportionately benefit…themselves.
We have reached out to Soon-Shiong, the Times, the CPJ, the F4GI, and other organizations for comment/response. No response has yet to be received – if and when any responses are received this article will be updated to include them.
